Smoke Rise Elementary is taking on S.T.E.M. education in a big way! We are actively working toward our certification and inviting the whole community to support us in this great endeavor. We have support from parents that are in the engineering profession and from prospective parents that know their children will benefit from this type of high level instruction.

Our curriculum uses Lego Robotics, EIE Units, and instructional materials from the Fernbank Science Center. Research, writing, math, art, social studies, and science are actively integrated into each S.T.E.M. lesson. In addition, we are rich in computer technology with laptops and iPads that are used on a daily basis.

Our latest pursuit in S.T.E.M. education is to include computer science i.e. computer programming as part of our curriculum.
